
 ABU FITRI BIN ABDUL JALIL
His department, Petroleum Operations Management, is responsible in managing all production operations of Production Sharing Contractors in Malaysia, including in areas of HSE Management, Malaysianisation, Production/Revenue Allocation, towards ensuring safe and prudent operations and maximizing value creation/revenue to PETRONAS' and the Nation, in line with PETRONAS operation performance excellence aspiration and PDA objectives.
Prior to this he was the General Manager, PCSB, Peninsular Malaysia Operations from 2006 to March 2010, managing almost half of the oil & gas offshore facilities in Peninsular Malaysia including control of all the onshore & offshore crude terminals as well as gas onshore terminals.
Abu Fitri joined PETRONAS in 1991. His working experience include Offshore Installation Manager; and then in 1999 moved to Sudan and started 1st oil, managing over 400 multinational workforce at site.
In 2001-2004, he moved to Khartoum to manage the 1,500 km and crude pipeline with 6 pump stations and marine terminal. In 2004, Abu Fitri moved to HR PETRONAS Center and rolled out a new Performance Management System for PETRONAS company wide. He returned to PCSB, Peninsular Operations in 2005 as Technical Services Manager, managing over 200 engineers of all disciplines from sub-surface to surface engineering.
 Terry Freckelton
Terry Freckelton is currently the Manager for Shell Malaysia's Deepwater Ventures where for the last six years he has been overseeing the development of the Gumusut-Kakap Field and other Deepwater developments located offshore Sabah. Terry has some 26 years of international petroleum experience with various oil & gas companies operating in such areas as Canada, Russia, Middle East, Australia, and the Gulf of Mexico. Past developments he has been involved with include the Sable Island Venture Gas Project, Cohasset/Panuke Oil Fields, Terra Nova Field Offshore Canada, Salym Project in West Siberia, Northwest Shelf offshore Australia and the Na Kika Deepwater project in the GOM.
 Julian Callanan
Julian holds a BSc (Hons) in Politics and Economics from the University of Bath. He has acted as lead author on a variety of reports covering the floating production and deepwater markets, and has also worked on a bespoke basis providing market strategy and business consultancy services for a range of offshore companies. Julian has also contributed articles and comment to 'Offshore Engineer', 'Offshore Magazine' and 'Offshore Technology' publications, and has a particular interest in the relationship between developments in the offshore energy industry and prevailing macro conditions.
 Brett Howard
Brett Howard is the Business Development Manager for Subsea Rigid Pipelines in Technip Malaysia.
He is a Naval Architecture graduate from Newcastle University who spent the formative part of his career working on the project engineering side of offshore construction and pipelay projects for McDermott's and ETPM.
He followed this with nine years in Technip's Offshore Engineering Division, three of them as manager, before moving to earlier this year Kuala Lumpur to take up his new role.
 Simon Hird
Simon Hird has spent 30 years in the subsea oil and gas sector. Initially with the subsea inspection industry, he also has experience within the fields of subsea engineering, construction, inspection and intervention.
In 2003 (as a partner and shareholder) he was part of the team that negotiated the sale of the Zenocean Limited to investment group Monitor Oil PLC. He then took on a role as Vice President - Business Acquisition for UK subsidiary Monitor Offshore Systems Limited. He also remained Director and General Manager of Zenocean Limited which continued to trade as a Monitor subsidiary.
In 2008 he took up a position as Projects Director for Well Ops Asia Pacific, a division of Helix Energy Solutions based in Perth Australia. In March 2009 he was asked to take on a new role to set up and develop a new division of Well Ops - Well Ops Consulting - offering integrated subsea consulting services to the SE Asia region.
In May 2009 he assumed the role of Business Development Manager, and in February 2010 he was appointed Business Development Manager for Clough Helix, a new joint venture company formed by Clough Ltd and Well Ops' parent company, Helix Energy Solutions Group.
 Dr Demetris Clerides
After completing his PhD in Computational Fluid Dynamics, Dr Demetris Clerides joined ICON to apply his expertise in consulting services. He then moved to CD-adapco, a leading-technology fluid dynamics software developer where, for eight years, he focused on developing the business in Scandinavia and the UK. In 2007, he attended an MBA course and upon his return to CD-adapco, his responsibility is to build the operations in Singapore, covering Southeast Asia and Pacific
 Hanh HA
Hanh joined BPP-TECH in 2001 and is a Materials Engineer. He has extensive practical experience in quality control of manufacture of components for the offshore industry. He is currently involved in developing an innovative VAWT for Project NOVA and analysing anchoring of armour wires in flexible risers and flowlines. Hanh is a self confessed technology geek, as such spends as much time as possible exploring ways to acquire as many gadgets as is financially possible.
 Mads Hjelmeland
Mads Hjelmeland holds an MSc in Marine Technology & Fluid Dynamics with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and currently holds the position as Area Sales Manager for Pumps and Subsea Systems with Framo Engineering Asia Pacific.
Mads has been with Framo Engineering for the last seven years, and initially started out working in the technical department where he worked with design of multiphase pump and wet gas compression systems. Prior to his posting in Malaysia in 2009 he was working as Multiphase Domain Product Champion out of the Schlumberger Regional Technology Centre in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.
 Jon Machin
Jon Machin has over 20 years experience in offshore and subsea oil and gas. He has worked for Fugro, Aker Kvaerner and Technip. He is currently the Business Development Manager, Asia-Pacific region for Schlumberger Subsea Surveillance.
 Donald Thompson
Donald Thompson holds a BSc (Hons) in Topographic Science - mapmaking to the uninitiated - from Glasgow University and an MBA from Aberdeen University. He has been involved in new product development and introduction in the offshore industry for 25 years, starting as a hydrographic surveyor involved in subsea positioning worldwide, and in the development of automated ROV offshore pipeline inspection, data acquisition and processing with Oilfield Hydrographic Projects. After six years he moved to MDL, where he was instrumental in the development and introduction of radio based differential GPS, laser ranging and seismic tailbuoy tracking systems, as well as mining and quarrying applications.
Prior to joining Schlumberger, Donald was Sales Manager at Nautronix for 12 years, where he was responsible for acoustic positioning, pig tracking and diver communication sales to the offshore industry. He is presently Surveillance Account Manager for Schlumberger Subsea Surveillance providing monitoring and communication systems to support structural integrity, flow assurance and production optimisation of subsea systems, through its range of subC products.
 HUGH DAVIES
As Head of Client Relationships for OMS, Hugh has worked extensively throughout the world with major operators, installation contractors and fabricators on critically important projects. These projects must achieve fit up to <1mm, SCR and Fatigue Sensitive matching of pipes to <0.5mm as well as helping determine counter-boring parameters whilst removing minimal wall thickness. More recently he has worked on projects involving qualifying internal welds where any lack of penetration is unacceptable.
Projects have included Shell "Amber-Jack" (GOM); Chevron "Blind Faith" (GOM); Shell "BC10" (Brazil); Shell "Gumusut-Kakap" (Malaysia); BP "Block 31 & 18" (Angola); BP "Galapagos" (GOM); Petrobras "P55 & P56" (Brazil); Chevron "Gorgon" (Japan & Australia)
 Olav Brakstad
Mr. Olav Brakstad is an engineer in electronics and instrumentation, focusing on radar- and sonar technology. Mr. Brakstad started his professional career by establishing his own consultancy company before joining Systemcom as a systems engineer for long and short wave radio systems. He returned to the marine electronics industry in 1996, working for Westronic, before joining ClampOn in 1999. During his 9 years in ClampOn, Mr. Brakstad has gained firsthand experience and extensive knowledge on acoustic sand monitoring systems. His is today ClampOn's Sales Manager for the Eastern Hemisphere.
 Carl-Petter Halvorsen
Carl-Petter Halvorsen has more than 30 years of experience in the subsea part of the Oil & Gas business, all related to the engineering, design, procurement and installation of rigid or flexible pipes.
He started off with Ugland Offshore, which later became DSND, and later became Subsea7. He left them in 1998 and joined Wellstream as General Manager of their Norwegian office. When Wellstream was sold in 2004, he left and moved to Aberdeen to become a freelancer, helping companies with new and innovative products to penetrate the oil and gas market. Two years ago he became one of the founders of flexlife Ltd. based in Aberdeen.
Carl-Petter is responsible for developing and growing flexlife in the international market.
